Full Height Turnstiles for EV Cargo: Warehouse Security & Perimeter Control
Who Are EV Cargo?
We worked with EV Cargo, a global supply chain services company based in Birmingham, Midlands, to deliver a robust full height turnstiles solution that enhanced warehouse security and strengthened overall site control.
Operating within a busy production warehouse, EV Cargo required a reliable system to manage staff movement while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
What Challenge Did EV Cargo Face?
Prior to our involvement, EV Cargo needed to improve site safety and perimeter security across multiple access points within their warehouse.
The existing setup did not provide the level of control required for managing staff entry and exit, particularly for tracking attendance (T&A) and ensuring safe movement throughout the site. In addition, outdated turnstiles needed to be removed and replaced with a more effective solution.
With multiple entrances to secure within a single warehouse, it was essential that the system worked cohesively while supporting both operational efficiency and warehouse access control.
What Were UK Turnstiles’ Goals for This Project?
Our goal was to design and install a durable solution using full height turnstiles that could secure multiple entrances across the site.
It was important that each full height turnstile gate integrated seamlessly with the available space, while working alongside perimeter security fencing to create a consistent and controlled entry system.
We also ensured that the system integrated with the site’s existing access control setup, allowing EV Cargo to monitor staff movement and improve operational oversight.
Project Breakdown
We began by removing all existing turnstiles before installing three UKT-40 full height security turnstile units across key access points within the warehouse.
Each full height turnstile was installed in conjunction with 2-metre-high perimeter security fencing, creating a fully enclosed and secure entry solution that supports both safety and efficiency.
The system was integrated with Paxton access control, enabling effective warehouse access control and ensuring accurate tracking of staff movement throughout the site.
In addition to the turnstiles, we supplied and installed Armco barrier protection to enhance safety in high-traffic operational areas, reducing the risk of vehicle-related incidents.
Timeline
The installation was completed in September 2025, with all systems delivered and fully operational across multiple areas of the warehouse.

Results
The completed installation has significantly improved warehouse security and strengthened overall perimeter security at EV Cargo’s Birmingham facility.

The integration with existing systems has enabled accurate tracking of staff movement and attendance, supporting both security and operational efficiency.
Combined with upgraded perimeter security fencing, the solution has created a safer, more structured environment for staff, while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
Future Plans
Following the success of this project, there is potential for similar full height turnstile systems to be implemented across additional EV Cargo sites, further enhancing security and consistency across their wider operations.
