The UKT-111 swing gate is a manual, bi-directional access control solution designed to allow controlled pedestrian flow in both directions without the need for a power supply. Ideal for entrances, exits, and internal access points, it provides a flexible solution where separate in and out lanes are not practical. Built for simplicity and low-maintenance operation, the UKT-111 is well suited to environments that require efficient and adaptable pedestrian movement.
Perfect for heavy footfall areas like retail supermarkets & busy office buildings.
The gate is designed to open 180 degrees and return to the closed position under spring tension.
The UKT-111 bi-directional swing gate suits openings where people need to pass in both directions but a separate in-lane and out-lane is not practical. Because the UKT-111 bi-directional swing gate is mechanical rather than motorised, there is no mains supply to run to the unit and nothing to fail electrically, which keeps both the installation cost and the ongoing maintenance down.
The arm opening is adjustable from 650mm to 1100mm, so the same gate can be set up as a standard pedestrian lane or opened out to a wider accessible lane. A wider setting makes the UKT-111 bi-directional swing gate suitable for wheelchair users, pushchairs, trolleys and deliveries, which helps operators meet their duty to make reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010.
Typical applications include retail and supermarket entrances, office receptions, schools and colleges, leisure centres, gyms and staff routes in warehouses and factories. In heavy footfall areas the gate handles a throughput of roughly 20 to 40 people per minute, and the mild steel body in bright chrome is chosen to stand up to constant contact in public areas.
Operation is simple: the gate is pushed open, travels through 180 degrees and returns to the closed position under spring tension, so it is never left standing open. An emergency release means the lane can be cleared quickly if the building needs to be evacuated.
A UKT-111 bi-directional swing gate is often installed alongside other entrance control equipment: an accessible swing gate lane next to a bank of speed gates or tripod turnstiles, or as the pedestrian route beside a vehicle barrier. It can also be combined with access control readers where entry needs to be restricted to card or fob holders rather than left free to push.
If you are not sure whether a UKT-111 bi-directional swing gate or a full height unit is right for your entrance, our team can talk through footfall, the level of security required and the space available before you commit to a specification.
