Who are Heroez Gym?
Heroez Gym is a fitness facility located in Carterton, providing members with a modern and accessible environment for workouts and training. To improve security and member access, the gym needed entrance turnstiles installed at their front doors. With a growing number of members, they needed a solution to ensure smooth access and robust security for the facility.
What Challenge Did Heroez Gym Face?
Prior to this project, gym owner Ty faced the challenge of enabling early morning access for members without the need for staff to be on site. With some members arriving as early as 5am every day, Ty needed a reliable entry solution. Not only this, but the gym also required a secure system to ensure that no one could bypass the front door. Without a structured entrance turnstiles and gates solution, there was a risk of unauthorised access and limited oversight during off-hours, creating potential security and operational issues.
What Were UK Turnstiles’ Goals for This Project?
We aimed to deliver a robust entrance turnstile system that could operate completely autonomously, providing high security and integrating seamlessly with the gym’s existing access control infrastructure. The system needed to ensure members could enter without staff supervision while preventing unauthorised access. Additionally, it was important that the solution integrated smoothly with the site’s exisiting Paxton Access control equipment and member management software, maintaining a reliable and user-friendly experience for both the gym and its members.
Project Breakdown
This project involved the installation of a UKT-40 single full-height turnstile at the gym’s main entrance. A Paxton ACU door controller was located inside the head of the unit, alongside Paxton P50 readers and a maglock system to fully automate the front door. Security fencing was also installed to prevent members from bypassing the site entrance turnstile, ensuring all access is controlled. The project required careful integration of multiple access control devices and software to provide a seamless, reliable system capable of operating without staff on site. This configuration delivers a fully automated gym entrance turnstile solution that combines security, efficiency, and convenience.
LSA had previously installed Paxton ACU door controllers and P50 readers within the turnstile structure. Our team integrated their existing setup into the new speed gate access control configuration, ensuring the whole system remained consistent, intuitive, and user-friendly.
The final design delivered high reliability and strong performance, combining specialist engineering, custom fabrication, and professional installation from an experienced speed gate installer.
Timeline
The installation was completed on Monday, 25th November 2024. We worked with Ty to coordinate all works efficiently, out-of-hours, to minimise disruption to members, delivering a fully functional turnstile entrance system that was operational immediately after installation.

Results

The integration with existing access control equipment ensures the system operates reliably alongside member management software. This has resulted in significant time savings for the gym staff and improved operational efficiency, providing a safe and controlled environment for all members.
