We worked with Oakley Fitness in Petts Wood to deliver a modern tripod turnstile solution and upgraded access control for their gym entrance. What Challenge Did Oakley Fitness Face?
Prior to our involvement, Oakley Fitness was operating with outdated tripod turnstiles that were beyond repair, with no replacement parts available. This posed both a security risk and operational inefficiencies, as members could experience delays during peak periods and staff needed to monitor entry manually. The gym required a modern, automated solution that could integrate with existing access control systems while keeping downtime for members to an absolute minimum.
What Were UK Turnstiles’ Goals for This Project?
Our objective was to provide a fully functional automatic tripod turnstile that enhanced security and improved the flow of members entering the gym. The system needed to integrate with Oakley Fitness’ existing Paxton reader and Ievo fingerprint reader systems, remove reliance on manual supervision, and allow for smooth and reliable operation. We also aimed to remove the outdated turnstile and responsibly dispose of it, ensuring a clean and safe installation site. As experienced turnstile gate installers, our team was able to deliver a professional turnstiles gate installation that met all client requirements. Over the years we have had lots of experience working with gyms and meeting deadlines within required hours to ensure the site is functioning as smoothly as possible throughout the installation process.
Project Breakdown
We completed the removal and safe disposal of the old tripod turnstile and transferred the existing Paxton and Ievo access control hardware to the new unit. The UKT-10 fully automatic tripod turnstile was installed and configured for seamless member access. Integrating multiple access control systems into a single turnstile presented a logistical challenge, but our team ensured flawless operation from day one. This setup provides a secure and user-friendly gym entrance while fully maintaining compatibility with the existing entrance control system.
Timeline
The project was completed on Friday 2nd May 2025. Careful planning and coordination ensured minimal disruption to gym members, allowing Oakley Fitness to remain fully operational throughout the installation.
