We worked with Reiss London to deliver a discreet and secure Speed Gate solution at their Picton Place site in London. Reiss is a premium clothing brand, and the entrance environment reflected this high-end aesthetic. The site required modern speed gates that enhanced security without detracting from the refined look and feel of the space.
What Challenge Did Reiss London Face?
Prior to our installation, there was no controlled entrance in place, allowing users to freely walk into the building with no clear understanding of who was inside or outside the site. This lack of control created security concerns while also placing pressure on staff to monitor access manually. Reiss needed a reliable speed gate access control solution that provided visibility and control, while remaining sympathetic to the building’s elegant interior.
What Were UK Turnstiles’ Goals for This Project?
Our goal was to design and install a secure and visually appropriate speed gate system that fitted seamlessly within the space. It was essential that the solution delivered strong access control while maintaining the premium appearance of the environment. At the client’s request, we also needed to ensure that the existing flooring and foundations were not touched, which meant supplying a bespoke floorplate to support the installation without drilling or permanent fixings.
Project Breakdown
We completed the installation of a twin UKT-26 speed gate turnstile system, with both lanes set at 900mm wide to provide full DDA access. The speed gate turnstiles were installed onto a custom floorplate, ensuring no drilling or fixing holes were required in the existing flooring. The system was integrated with the site’s existing access control, delivering a secure and automated turnstile speed gate solution that aligned with both operational and aesthetic requirements. The installation was carried out over a weekend to minimise disruption to the business.
Timeline
The installation took place over the weekend of Saturday 7th to Sunday 8th September 2024. Completing the work outside of normal operating hours ensured that Reiss could continue day-to-day operations without interruption while benefiting immediately from enhanced security speed gates.
