Who Are Saltdean Lido
We worked with Saltdean Lido in Saltdean, East Sussex, to deliver a secure and modern swing gate solution for their outdoor entrance. Saltdean Lido is a popular open-air swimming facility with high visitor numbers during the summer months. The client needed a professional and reliable system to manage access efficiently while withstanding the challenging coastal weather conditions.
What Challenge Did Saltdean Lido Face?
Before our involvement, there was no entrance control system in place. Visitors could walk in without the facility knowing whether they had paid, creating security risks and operational inefficiencies. The system also needed to be non-intrusive and durable enough to withstand strong winds and the harsh conditions of Saltdean seafront.
What Were UK Turnstiles’ Goals for This Project?
Our goal was to deliver a reliable and visually unobtrusive automatic swing gate solution, allowing staff to manage access effectively while reducing manual intervention. The system needed to operate fully outdoors and provide a seamless entry experience for members. As experienced swing gate installers, we aimed to provide a long-lasting solution that integrated smooth swinging access gates to manage traffic flow safely.
Project Breakdown
We designed and installed four UKT-115 fully automatic swing gates, fabricated in marine-grade stainless steel with custom Perspex wings to allow wind flow and prevent damage. Two stainless steel posts with exit buttons were included to give members controlled egress. A manual override console was installed behind reception, enabling staff to operate the gates as needed.
This project also delivered automated swing gates functionality, allowing the gates to open and close seamlessly without staff intervention. The bespoke system acts as a turnstile security systems swing gates solution, channeling visitors through controlled entry points while maintaining a safe and secure perimeter.
Timeline
The installation was completed from Monday 6th to Friday 10th January 2025. Careful planning ensured the system was operational immediately, with minimal disruption to staff and visitors.
